Hard Chrome Plating
HARD CHROME PLATING
Industrial hard chrome plating improves wear resistance, reduces friction, and provides a protective barrier against corrosion, making it essential for prolonging part life and ensuring they endure demanding conditions. Known for its exceptional hardness and ability to withstand corrosion and extreme conditions, hard chrome plating minimizes abrasions and the effects of environmental and chemical forces, making it ideal for industries where durability and performance are critical.
Hard chrome plating is used in industrial applications to:
- Reduce friction
- Improve durability through abrasion tolerance and wear resistance
- Minimize galling or seizing of parts
- Restore original dimensions of worn parts
- Increase wear and corrosion resistance of equipment components
- Offer high lubricity to prolong machine life by reducing friction
- Provide a hard, protective layer that withstands high stress and wear
- Mitigate rust and reinforce the base material's strength
- Enhance machine performance
Hard chrome plating is excellent for mold release and a great choice for parts that are subjected to high wear such as rolls, tooling, dies, guides, mandrels, screens, shafts, sleeves, and many others. Hard chrome plating can endure high temperatures, which is crucial for many molding processes. Its durability and longevity mean less maintenance and a longer service life for molds.
At C&R Hard Chrome Service, our plating process is closely monitored to ensure that the thickness and quality of the chrome meets our high-quality standards.
We offer polishing and glass-bead blasting services both before and after plating, ensuring a high-quality finish, as well as outside grinding for dimensional accuracy. Please note that grinding may require additional time as this is an outside process. Polishing can also be conducted as a stand-alone service.
*We do not offer services for decorative plating, such as automotive bumpers and wheels.
